Im tall with longer arms. Sometimes I van reach and wrap or lock around a leg. Most dont like it because it dampens the power they are able to put into a throw. I also extend my legs afterwards.

I’m also here bc of Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. I had to watch the fight again today even though it happened a month ago! Islam’s single leg whip or drag (whatever you want to call it) into a d’arce choke on DP in the last 2.5 mins of the 5th round was masterful. And being able to dig that far into the bag of tricks when you’re that gassed and still execute it perfectly is something that the untrained spectator just simple wouldn’t understand how good it was.
